Some payments have a date attached: a supplier invoice due next week, an agreed contractor payment or money you want to send to family later in the month. SOLKEEP lets you prepare and fund that transfer now, then have it sent after the time you choose.
Scheduled payments work with SOL, USDC and USDT on Solana. This guide explains where the funds go, how to set up a payment and what both sender and recipient can check before it is sent.
Fund now, send on the date you choose#
When you approve a scheduled payment, the payment amount leaves your spendable wallet balance and is held on Solana under the schedule you created. The recipient, amount, send time and cancellation choice are recorded with it. You need the funds when you schedule, rather than hoping your wallet will have enough later.
At the send time, the payment becomes ready for automatic delivery to the specified recipient. You do not need to return and approve it again, and the recipient does not need to claim it. Your browser can be closed after the scheduling transaction is confirmed.
What you need before you start#
- A funded SOLKEEP wallet. Have enough of the chosen asset for the payment and scheduling fee, plus SOL for the network fee and temporary storage deposit.
- A compatible recipient address. Confirm that it can receive your chosen asset on Solana. SOLKEEP supports only the Solana network.
- A future send time within 30 days. Agree the time with the recipient, especially if you are in different time zones.
- A payment meeting the $50 minimum. For SOL, the required token amount depends on the price when you prepare it. Check the amount accepted by the form.
New to the wallet? Open SOLKEEP, create a wallet, record your recovery words offline, complete the backup check and choose a strong password. Our wallet FAQ explains creation and recovery. A saved password does not replace your recovery phrase backup.
How to schedule a payment in SOLKEEP#
- Unlock your wallet and open Scheduled payments. Choose Schedule a payment.
- Select SOL, USDC or USDT. Paste the recipient's Solana wallet address and enter the amount.
- Choose the date and time in Send on. The form uses your device's local time. On review, check the displayed local time and its UTC equivalent.
- Decide whether to select Allow me to cancel before the send time. This choice becomes fixed when the payment is created.
- Choose Review payment. Check the full recipient address, amount, send time, cancellation setting and total costs.
- Confirm that you checked the details, then choose Confirm and schedule. Wait for confirmation and save the payment's verification link.
A submitted request still needs confirmation. If SOLKEEP reports an unknown submission outcome, check the transaction and My scheduled payments before trying again. Creating a duplicate could schedule the same payment twice.
Choose whether you can cancel#
| Choice | Before the send time | After the send time |
|---|---|---|
| Cancellable | You can cancel and recover the full payment amount. | You can no longer cancel; the funds can only go to the recipient. |
| Non-cancellable | You cannot take the payment back through cancellation. | The funds can only go to the recipient. |
The recipient can see this setting. A cancellable schedule lets them verify that funds are set aside, while also showing that you can still withdraw the commitment before the deadline. A non-cancellable schedule removes that option for the sender.
To cancel an eligible payment, open My scheduled payments, find it and review the cancellation before confirming. Allow time for confirmation before the send time. The scheduling fee is not refunded.
Understand the fee and storage deposit#
Scheduling currently costs 1% of the payment amount plus a small fixed amount, paid in the asset you send. For example, scheduling 100 USDT costs 1.003 USDT in scheduling fees, so the token total at creation is 101.003 USDT. The scheduled payment amount remains 100 USDT.
Separately, you need SOL for the network fee and a small storage deposit. The deposit is held while the schedule is pending and returned automatically when the payment is sent or cancelled. Network fees are spent; the scheduling fee is not refunded if you cancel.
Use the review screen's figures for your actual payment. It shows the scheduling fee, total token amount, storage deposit and network fee before approval. The scheduled payments overview also explains the current terms.
Let the recipient verify the payment#
Share the verification link from your scheduled payment, or give the recipient its payment ID or scheduling transaction link. They can open Verify a payment and inspect the details without creating a wallet.
Verification shows the asset, amount, sender and recipient addresses, send time, cancellation setting and status. These details are read from Solana, so the recipient can check the actual schedule instead of relying on a screenshot. They should compare the displayed recipient address with their own.
A scheduled payment is not a completed payment. Recipients should distinguish funds held for later delivery from a payment already marked Sent, and check whether cancellation remains possible.
What happens at the send time?#
SOLKEEP's automatic sending process submits the due payment to Solana. The expected delivery is within a few minutes of the chosen time. It is not an exact-second guarantee; network conditions or service interruptions can delay delivery.
The verification page may show Sending now after the send time has passed while delivery is still pending. Check for Sent to confirm the recipient received it. If a payment is delayed, verify its status and transaction record before making a replacement transfer.
Amounts, wallet addresses and send times are public on Solana. Scheduling does not make a payment private, and sharing a verification link makes those details easy for its viewers to inspect.
Build a clear payment routine#
Agree the asset, address, amount, send time and cancellation choice before creating the schedule. Save its verification link with the invoice or personal record it belongs to, then check that it reaches Sent after the due time.
Each schedule is one payment. For repeated payments, create and fund each separately within the 30-day window. If you want to request money from a customer instead, Get paid payment links offer a different flow: the customer pays you when they open the link.
Ready to plan your next transfer? Open your SOLKEEP wallet and choose Scheduled payments. Take a moment on the review screen: the details you approve determine where the funds can go and when they can be sent.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to leave SOLKEEP open for a scheduled payment?
No. Once the scheduling transaction is confirmed, the payment is recorded and funded on Solana. Automatic sending does not depend on keeping your browser open. Delivery is expected within a few minutes of the send time, rather than at an exact second.
Which assets and networks can I use?
Scheduled payments support SOL, USDC and USDT on Solana mainnet only. The recipient needs an address that can receive the chosen asset on Solana. Do not use an address for native Bitcoin, Ethereum or another network.
Can I change the recipient, amount or send time later?
The current flow does not edit an existing payment. If you allowed cancellation and the send time has not arrived, you can cancel and create a new payment with corrected details. The original scheduling fee is not refunded.
Can I set up a recurring monthly payment?
The current feature schedules individual payments, up to 30 days ahead. It does not create an automatically renewing monthly instruction. Create and fund each payment separately.
Does the recipient have to claim the payment?
No. The payment is sent to the recipient address automatically after its send time. The recipient does not need to sign a claim, keep a page open or have a SOLKEEP wallet. They can check the details on Verify a payment.
What comes back if I cancel?
For a cancellable payment cancelled before its send time, the full payment amount returns to your wallet. The small SOL storage deposit is also returned. The scheduling fee is not refunded, and network fees apply.
