Your customer has chosen a product and wants to pay in crypto. You need a clear amount, a receiving wallet and a reliable way to match the payment to their order. With SOLKEEP, you can start by creating a payment link and sharing it when the customer is ready to check out.

This guide walks through creating your wallet, using Get paid and checking the result before you ship a parcel or deliver a digital product. The flow works for SOL, USDC and USDT on Solana only.

Start with a payment link for each order#

A payment link gives your customer a page showing the asset, amount, destination and remaining payment time. They send the requested funds directly to your wallet, and SOLKEEP updates the checkout status when it detects the payment. SOLKEEP does not hold the proceeds for you.

For a small shop, you can offer this as a manual payment option: agree the order total, create its link, then send it through your normal customer communication channel. Keep your order pending until you confirm payment. Creating a link does not automatically update your store's order or inventory system.

Step 1: create your SOLKEEP wallet#

  1. Open solkeep.app and choose Open wallet. Select the option to create a new wallet.
  2. Write the recovery phrase offline, keeping the words in the exact order shown. Complete the backup check and store the copy somewhere private and protected from damage.
  3. Choose a strong, unique password. SOLKEEP requires at least eight characters; use a longer password you do not reuse elsewhere.
  4. Keep a record that identifies this as your store wallet. A separate business wallet can make order reconciliation easier than mixing customer receipts with personal spending.

SOLKEEP encrypts the wallet vault in your browser and signs payments on your device. The password unlocks that saved vault; your recovery phrase is what lets you restore access in another browser. Clearing browser data or losing the device can remove your local copy.

Before taking live orders, test the complete process with a small payment that meets the minimum. Confirm you can receive it, find its status and match it to your test order.

Step 2: choose what you accept#

AssetPricing considerationCurrent minimum
USDCDesigned to track the US dollar; its market value can still change5 USDC
USDTA separate dollar-linked token with its own issuer and risks5 USDT
SOLIts price can change between quoting an order and receiving payment0.001 SOL

Agree the token amount with your customer. Get paid requests an amount in the chosen asset; it does not automatically convert your store's cash price. For example, an agreed price of 25 USDC means creating a USDC link for that amount, then checking the final amount shown.

USDC and USDT can make dollar-based pricing easier to communicate, but they are not bank deposits and are not guaranteed to stay at one dollar. Our cryptocurrency guide explains the difference between these tokens and SOL.

Step 3: create a link with Get paid#

  1. Unlock your SOLKEEP wallet and choose Get paid.
  2. Select USDT, USDC or SOL and enter the token amount.
  3. Add an optional note such as Order 1042. Anyone with the link can see the note, so keep customer names, addresses and other personal details in your private order system.
  4. Choose Create payment link and approve the request in your wallet.
  5. Review the created link's asset and exact amount, then choose Copy link or Share. Save the link with the matching order so you can find it later.

Each link stays open for 20 minutes. Create it when the customer is ready to pay. For a live order, share the fresh link with that customer rather than placing it on a permanent product page.

Step 4: help your customer pay correctly#

The customer opens the link and checks the payment page. They can choose Open in wallet app with a compatible wallet, or use the displayed address and amount in a sending service that supports the requested asset on Solana. They do not need a SOLKEEP wallet.

The QR code on the payment page contains the address only. Scanning it does not select the asset or fill the amount. Ask the customer to check all three, then send the exact displayed amount in one transfer before the timer ends.

Please pay the exact amount shown on your payment page, using the selected asset on Solana. Keep extra SOL for the network fee, and check that your sending service does not deduct its fee from the amount we receive.

Solana payments require SOL for network fees even when sending USDC or USDT. The network fee guide explains why. If a customer's service cannot use Solana or cannot send the full amount before expiry, arrange another payment method.

Step 5: confirm payment before fulfilling#

Check Recent checkouts inside your own SOLKEEP wallet. Match the link and note to the order, and confirm the payment status and received amount. A customer screenshot or a message saying “sent” is not confirmation that you received the funds.

StatusWhat to do
PendingKeep the order awaiting payment while the checkout checks for funds.
PaidMatch the received payment to the order, then fulfil according to your store process.
UnderpaidReview the received amount and resolve the shortfall with the customer before fulfilment.
Expired or cancelledCheck for any transfer already sent before arranging a replacement payment.

If the customer says they paid but the order is unresolved, ask for the transaction record and verify the asset, network, destination, amount and time. Do not tell them to pay again until you understand the first transfer. For a partial payment, agree a resolution rather than assuming a second transfer will complete the original link.

Know the costs and limits#

SOLKEEP charges no payment-link fee to you or the customer. Network fees still apply, and the customer's sending service may charge separately. Receiving crypto also does not automatically convert it into money in your bank account.

The default allowance is 50 links per wallet per day, shared with links created through a custom integration. Check your remaining allowance in Get paid. Later swaps and withdrawals have separate service costs, shown before approval; see the current fee information when planning your store's costs.

Make payments part of your store routine#

Keep the order ID, payment link, asset, requested and received amounts, payment date and transaction record together in your business records. Use a clear process for exceptions and tell customers what to expect if a link expires or they send the wrong amount.

Refunds are separate outgoing transfers. Confirm the customer's refund address and network through your normal order communication channel, agree the asset and amount, and review the fees before approving. Do not assume the original sending address can receive a refund, especially when the customer paid through an exchange.

As order volume grows, your developer can use SOLKEEP's Payments API to create a fresh link during checkout and let your store receive payment-status notifications. Keep the customer experience focused on their order and confirmation; the integration guide covers the implementation.

Start with one test order from link creation through fulfilment. Once you can match a confirmed payment to the right order, you have a repeatable way to offer Solana payments alongside your existing payment options.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to build a checkout integration to start?

No. You can create a payment link manually with Get paid and share it with a customer for a specific order. For a custom checkout that creates links and tracks payment status automatically, see the Payments API guide.

Does the customer need a SOLKEEP wallet?

No. The customer can pay using a wallet or sending service that supports the requested asset on Solana. They must send the exact amount shown, allow for any sending fees and complete the transfer before the link expires.

What assets and networks can my store accept?

Get paid accepts SOL, USDC and USDT on Solana mainnet only. It does not accept native Bitcoin, ETH or versions of these tokens on other networks. The current minimum is 5 USDC, 5 USDT or 0.001 SOL per link.

What does Get paid cost?

SOLKEEP charges no fee to create payment links and no payment-link fee to the customer. Solana network fees still apply to the payment, and a sending service may charge its own fees. Later swaps and withdrawals have their own costs.

Can I reuse one payment link for every customer?

No. Each link is for one payment and stays open for 20 minutes. Create a separate link for each order. Do not use an expiring payment link as a permanent product-page payment button.

Does cancelling a payment link refund the customer?

No. Cancelling an open link stops that checkout from accepting payment; it does not reverse a transfer already sent to your wallet. A refund is a separate outgoing payment that you must review and approve.
